How to use this practice: Each text is something you could actually receive — an email, a notice, a memo, a post. Read it once at normal speed, then answer the three questions under it. Watch the options that reuse a word from the text: matching words are the most common trap in this part.

Memo: Staff photo day

To: All staff

From: Reception

Date: 10 June

A photographer comes on Thursday 19 June for new staff photos. The photos go on the website and on your door pass.

Photos are taken in meeting room 2, from 9 AM to 4 PM. There is a list on the door; write your name next to a time.

It takes about five minutes. You do not need to book a long slot.

Please wear normal work clothes. Do not wear a white shirt, because the wall behind you is white.

If you work from home on Thursdays, come in that day if you can. If you cannot, we will use your old photo.

New staff who joined this year must have a photo. Everyone else may keep the old one if they prefer.
