On the one hand, these changes brought some clear benefits. The streets are much safer now, and there are more job opportunities for younger people in the service industry. It definitely looks more modern and attractive now.
However, there was also a negative impact. The cost of rent went up significantly, so many long-time residents and small business owners could no longer afford to stay. I mean, it’s nice to have modern amenities, but it feels like the original community spirit was lost in the process.
