Alex — Alex wants to learn about your daily habits and how you manage your time.
Turn 1
“Hi! I'm curious about your daily life. What time do you usually wake up in the morning?”
Useful Expressions
I usually wake up at... · I try to... · Right after... · I think...
Show Model Response
Hi Alex! I usually wake up at around 6:30 in the morning. I try to wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends, because I find that having a consistent schedule helps me feel more alert. Right after I wake up, I drink a glass of water and open the curtains to let in some sunlight. I think starting the day with light and water is a great way to wake up your body.
Turn 2
“That sounds great! Do you have a morning routine? What do you do before starting work or school?”
Useful Expressions
First, I... · Then I... · I try not to... · I find that...
Show Model Response
Yes, I have a pretty simple morning routine. First, I do about 15 minutes of light stretching or yoga. Then I take a shower and have breakfast, which is usually oatmeal or eggs with some fruit. While I eat, I write down the top three things I want to accomplish that day. I try not to look at my phone until after breakfast. I find this routine helps me start the day calmly and with a clear focus.
Turn 3
“Do you exercise regularly? How do you fit it into your busy schedule?”
Useful Expressions
I try to... · I usually... · I find it easier to... · Even a small amount...
Show Model Response
Yes, I try to exercise at least four times a week. I usually go for a 30-minute jog in the morning or do a short home workout. I find it easier to exercise in the morning before my day gets busy, because by the evening I am often too tired. On days when I cannot exercise in the morning, I try to at least take a 15-minute walk during my lunch break. Even a small amount of movement makes me feel much better for the rest of the day.
Turn 4
“How do you manage your time when you have a lot of things to do?”
Useful Expressions
When I have a lot to do... · I write down... · I try to... · This helps me...
Show Model Response
When I have a lot to do, I make a priority list. I write down everything I need to finish and then put the most important tasks at the top. I try to tackle the hardest or most important task first, when I have the most energy. I also use a timer to work in focused 25-minute blocks with short breaks in between. This is called the Pomodoro technique, and it really helps me stay on track without feeling overwhelmed.
Turn 5
“What do you do to relax after a long day of work or study?”
Useful Expressions
After work... · I usually... · I enjoy... · I think...
Show Model Response
After work, I like to do things that help me switch off from the stress of the day. I usually go for a short walk to get some fresh air and clear my head. Then I might read a book or listen to a podcast. I enjoy cooking dinner as a way to relax because it requires concentration but in a fun way. I also try to avoid looking at screens too much in the evening so that I can sleep well. I think having a relaxing evening routine is just as important as a good morning routine.
Turn 6
“If you could change one thing about your daily routine, what would it be and why?”
Useful Expressions
I think the one thing... · I know that... · If I could... · I am slowly...
Show Model Response
I think the one thing I would change is going to bed earlier. I know that sleep is very important for health and productivity, but I often stay up too late reading or watching videos. This means I sometimes do not get the full seven or eight hours of sleep I need. If I could go to bed by 10 PM every night, I think I would wake up feeling much more refreshed and have more energy throughout the day. I am slowly working on this by setting a reminder on my phone at 9:30 PM to start getting ready for bed.
