With limited financial resources, should humanity prioritize Mars colonization or environmental recovery on Earth?
Student Views
Alex: We must repair the damage we caused on Earth.
Jamie: Mars offers long-term survival security.
Sample Answer
In my opinion, Earth should receive the majority of humanity’s attention and funding. The environmental problems we face today are largely caused by human behavior, and we have a moral responsibility to address them.
Mars colonization is an ambitious goal, but it faces enormous challenges, such as radiation exposure, lack of breathable air, and extreme temperatures. Solving these issues would require technology far beyond our current capabilities. Meanwhile, people on Earth are already suffering from climate-related disasters.
That said, limited space research can still be valuable. Scientific discoveries made through space exploration may lead to improvements in energy efficiency and resource management on Earth.
Overall, repairing Earth should be humanity’s priority, while space exploration should remain a long-term scientific objective rather than an immediate solution.
